The Malpass Brothers

THE START TIME FOR THIS SATURDAY’S MALPASS BROTHERS CONCERT AT THE ARTS PLACE OF STOKES HAS BEEN MOVED UP TO 3PM.  PLEASE CONTACT EVERYONE IN YOUR PARTY OF THIS CHANGE.

Seating will begin at 2:15pm.

The Stokes County Emergency Medical Services Department has encouraged Stokes Arts to move up the concert start time to 3pm due to a significant weather system that is being forecasted to arrive late Saturday night.

The Artists Way Cafe & Bakery, right next to The Arts Place, will be offering their Bluegrass Buffet lunch beginning at 12pm noon for $9.50 plus tax.  The buffet will include fried chicken, ham, mashed potatoes, green beans, rolls, dessert, and tea / lemonade.  If you’re interested in the buffet just drop a quick email to RdllBonnie@aol.com with Bluegrass buffet in the subject line and the number in your party.  This is not a reservation, but the cafe would like an idea of how many to plan for.

100% of the Admission Proceeds from this concert support the new Stokes Junior Mountain Music Kids program offering instruction on traditional instruments, and carrying on Stokes County’s rich musical heritage to the next generation of artists.

Thank you for supporting the Stokes County Arts Council.  We look forward to seeing you all THIS Saturday at The Malpass Brothers Concert beginning at 3pm.

The Stokes County Arts Council presents The Malpass Brothers in concert at The Arts Place on Saturday, January 12 at 3pm.

This is music steeped in the legacy of the Louvin Brothers, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Sr. & others. Count on classic, real country. Count on a couple of old-time traditional gospels. Count on their probably coming down into the house at intermission and asking what youd like to hear. Count on giggles and ribbing between brothers, along with daddy on the bass, whos bound to be thinking, What the hell are they doing now? Count on some big, high man hair, and maybe an Elvis twitch or two.

This performance is part of the Stokes County Arts Council’s 2019 NC Music Celebration Series.
