Shakespeare At The Rock Returns With “As You Like It”

Pleasant Gardens NC— “I like this place and could willingly waste my time in it.” Sherri Raeford of Shared Radiance Theatre Company is pleased to announce her latest Shakespearian production, “As You Like It.” As a promenade-style theatre which has performances in several venues, audience members will follow the actors from scene to scene during the final weekend of performances on Oct. 13 and 14th at Hanging Rock State Park. Both performances will be at 2:00 pm.

Please bring comfortable walking shoes and a chair to the performance, which begins at the Hanging Rock State Park Visitors Center, travels to the upper cascades and back.

Set in the contrasting worlds of the East and West coasts of the 1960s, this hippie-dippy, trippin’, rockin’ take on Shakespeare’s hilarious cross-dressing comedy is sure to please! Between the WWE style wrestling, stage combat, hilarity, and music, Raeford’s fantastic trip back in time to the Haight-Ashbury era reminds the audience that everyone can be “happy together!” Raeford has successfully intertwined snippets of the best music of the late ‘60s with moments of Shakespeare’s timeless themes.

Thanks to the Stoke County Arts Council, Hanging Rock State Park and the Wells Fargo Foundation for support of this unique Theatre on the Trails experience.

The address is 1005 Visitor Center Drive, Danbury, NC 27016.

Tickets for the closing weekend shows are $25 and include a reception with the actors at the Visitor’s Center.  Tickets are available ONLINE or by calling 336-593-8159.
